When to Fly the US Flag in 2008
PUBLIC LAW 94 - 344. The Federal Flag Code prescribes the proper display of and respect for the United States Flag. (94th Congress, S.J. Res. 49).  Title 36 U.S. Code also specifies days when the US flag should be displayed and how (full staff or half-staff) in addition to Presidential Resolutions directing display of the flag.

We encourage the daily patriotic display of the US Flag by individuals, businesses and government institutions as a show of respect for our Nation, its military, and our People.

The following is a compilation of the days prescribed by Federal law for display of the US flag during the year 2007. Local governments and schools can direct additional days for display.

Links are available to the reference cited.

Additional days for display of the US Flag for the purposes of Patriotic Remembrance or National importance are listed without specific reference to law.
